Sylhet: President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today offered 'Ziarat' at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shahparan (RA) soon after arriving in Sylhet as part of his visit. The President arrived at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) around 12:30 pm, where he recited Tasbih and offered ziarat.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after completing his visit at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA), President Alamgir departed with his motorcade for the shrine of Hazrat Shahparan (RA). Following the ziarat at this second shrine, the President returned to the Sylhet Circuit House.
Earlier in the day, President Alamgir arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 11:27 am. From the airport, he proceeded to the Sylhet Circuit House, where he was honored with a guard of honour. Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, local parliament members, political leaders, and district administration officials were present at the airport to welcome him.
In the afternoon, the President is scheduled to attend a civic reception organized by the Sylhet City Corporation. Security measures have been heightened in Sylhet due to the President's visit. President Alamgir is expected to conclude his visit and depart for Dhaka from Osmani International Airport later tonight.
