Dhaka: State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque announced that Sepak Takraw could be included in the national talent-hunt program 'Notun Kuri Sports' if players maintain consistent performance. During an unannounced visit to the National Sepak Takraw Stadium on Tuesday, the minister attended the finals of the Sepak Takraw competition to encourage participants.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the State Minister assured players that their facilities would be improved. He stated that necessary steps would be taken to arrange a suitable dressing room for the players at the earliest. The surprise visit and the minister's promises were well-received by young athletes and organizers.
In the men's final, Satkhira district emerged victorious over Nilphamari district with a 2-0 win, securing the championship title. In the women's category, Rangamati district claimed the championship, finishing with six points from the group-league standings, while Nilphamari finished as runners-up with four points.
