Dhaka: Bangladesh fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain urged the aspiring fast bowlers to bowl with pace while maintaining accuracy in a bid to develop them as a deadly pacer. Their statement came ahead of the nationwide fast-bowling talent search program which is set to start this month.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative, titled "Robi Bowler Hunt," will be organized jointly by the BCB and Robi Axiata PLC. The program was officially inaugurated today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Tamim Iqbal and national team pacers Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain attended the launching ceremony. Robi Axiata PLC Chief Executive Officer Ziad Shatara along with officials from both organizations was also present.

Ebadot, who rose to prominence through a pace-hunting program, credited the initiative with helping him launch his cricket career. "First of all, I would like to thank Robi and the BCB. They gave me an opportunity through a program like this in 2016. That is why I am standing here today and representing Bangladesh," Ebadot said.

Recalling his experience, Ebadot said he was nervous when he attended the program on a winter morning after traveling from Faridpur. "I was very nervous at that time. It was a winter morning. I came from Faridpur. Imran Sarwar Sir gave me the opportunity to bowl. I bowled fast and finished first in the Robi Pace Hunt in 2016," he added.

Taskin urged the aspiring pacers to focus on bowling with pace while maintaining accuracy. "As it is a bowling hunt, expert coaches will be there to assess the bowlers. Our national team players will also go there. I want the pacers to try to bowl fast," Taskin said. He also advised the participants to practice yorkers, saying it could help them generate greater pace. "Another tip is to try yorkers, as that will help increase the speed. Both pace and line and length are important. I want them to bowl fast so that we can find a quick bowler like Ebadot," Taskin added.
