Dhaka: The prepaid electricity vending system of West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd (OZOPADICO) was restored on Tuesday morning after a technical disruption left customers unable to recharge their prepaid meters for nearly 17 hours.
According to United News of Bangladesh, OZOPADICO stated that the logical connection between its prepaid database server and application server was disconnected at 1:15 pm on Monday. A team of technical experts carried out tests and troubleshooting for several hours before restoring the prepaid system at 6:10 am on Tuesday, the company mentioned in a press release.
The company announced that all restrictions related to prepaid meter recharging have now been removed, and customers can complete vending as usual. OZOPADICO apologized to customers in different regions who faced difficulties vending their prepaid meters during the disruption.
It further stated that necessary measures have been taken to prevent a recurrence of the problem and expressed its commitment to customer satisfaction and cooperation.
