Rajshahi: In a special drive conducted by the Rajshahi Range Police in the last 24 hours, 183 people have been arrested. During this time, 54 cases were filed and two foreign pistols, bullets, yaba, heroin, cannabis, foreign liquor, and locally-made liquor were seized. This information was disclosed in a press release sent from the media wing of Rajshahi Range Police today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police reported that among the cases filed in various police stations of the range, there was one murder case, one dowry-related murder, one under the Cyber Security Act, four theft cases, and five cases of violence against women and children. Additionally, 42 more cases have been filed for other offences, while six unnatural death cases were also recorded.
Of the 183 people arrested in the drive conducted to control the law and order situation, 97 are warrant-listed, 15 are convicted, 59 are accused in cases under investigation, and 12 were arrested under preventive measures. At the same time, 25 drug dealers and drug users were also arrested.
In the drive, two foreign pistols, three magazines, and seven rounds of bullets were recovered. Furthermore, 22 grams of heroin, 122 pieces of yaba, 322 pieces of Tapentadol, 2 kg 708 grams of cannabis, 2.2 liters of foreign liquor, and 20 liters of locally-made liquor were recovered.
Police further stated that a total of 145 drives were conducted in different areas of the range to arrest suspects and recover drugs and arms. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 1,083 citizens have taken various types of police services in different police stations of Rajshahi Range. So far this month, the number of service recipients in various police stations of the range has stood at 12,122.
