Joypurhat: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) provided free medical treatment and medicines to more than 650 underprivileged people at a day-long medical camp at Koya border area in Panchbibi upazila of the district today. Joypurhat BGB-20 Battalion organised the camp at Koya Government Primary School ground throughout the day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BGB Dinajpur Sector Commander Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan inaugurated the camp. More than 650 men, women, and children from the area under Koya Border Outpost (BOP) received medical treatment from experienced physicians and necessary medicines free of cost.
Speaking at the program, Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan stated that BGB has always been working for the welfare of people living in border areas alongside safeguarding the country's borders. He emphasized BGB's commitment to standing beside disadvantaged people during any crisis or humanitarian disaster and expressed hope that such initiatives would further strengthen the relationship between BGB and local communities.
Joypurhat 20 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Latiful Bari presided over the program. Acting Senior Medical Officer of Dinajpur Sector Captain Hosne Ara Akter, Assistant Director Mohammad Humayun Kabir, local dignitaries, and other BGB officials were present.
