Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Musleh Uddin Ahmed today announced that the police force would ensure a safe and peaceful environment in the capital through impartial, professional, and people-oriented services. "Through impartial, professional, and pro-people services, we will build a safe and peaceful environment for businessmen, ordinary citizens, and children," he stated.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the statement was made during a law-and-order discussion with local residents at Basila Police Camp in the capital this afternoon. The meeting was organized by the Mohammadpur Police Station under DMP's Tejgaon Division to discuss ways to improve the overall law-and-order situation in the area, take a tougher stance against drugs, ease traffic congestion, and strengthen public safety.

The DMP commissioner emphasized that stronger ties between the police and the public, along with greater direct participation of citizens, could help eliminate crimes such as theft and snatching, as well as traffic congestion and local disputes.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General and Additional IGP Md Ahsan Habib Palash also spoke at the meeting, urging parents to take greater responsibility for preventing drug abuse, online gambling, and juvenile gangs. He emphasized that families have the primary responsibility for monitoring their children's movements and behavior.

The RAB chief called on citizens to play a courageous role, without fear, in strengthening law and order in their communities. Senior officials of DMP and RAB, along with local residents, attended the meeting.
