NCP Organizes Ward-Level Meetings to Gear Up for Dhaka City Corporation Elections

Dhaka: The National Citizen Party (NCP) on Sunday convened organizational preparation meetings at the ward level in anticipation of the Dhaka City Corporation elections. Party convener Nahid Islam provided guidance to leaders and prospective candidates during these sessions.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the exchange meeting with prospective councillor candidates from various wards under Dhaka South and North City Corporations took place at NCP's temporary office in Bangla Motor during the afternoon. Nahid Islam, who serves as the chief whip of the opposition in the national parliament, was in attendance alongside NCP-backed probable mayoral candidates for Dhaka South and North City Corporations, Nasiruddin Patwary and Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, respectively.

During the meeting, Nahid Islam officially announced Nasiruddin Patwary and Asif Mahmud as the party's mayoral candidates for Dhaka South and North City Corporations, respectively. He provided directives covering preparations for the city corporation elections, metropolitan politics, and ward-based resistance against the "fallen and fugitive" Awami League. He also emphasized standing beside the families of July martyrs and the injured, and initiating movements on civic issues.

Further instructions were given by Nahid to party leaders on identifying probable councillor candidates, addressing ward-level civic problems, and maintaining continuous engagement with the families of July martyrs and the injured. He stressed the importance of vigilance against subversive activities by the "fallen and fugitive" Awami League.

Dhaka South and North metropolitan conveners Ishaq Sarkar and Ariful Islam Adib, along with leaders from various levels of the party, were present at the meeting.
