Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has recommended attaching the allegations against former principal secretary Ahmad Kaikaus to its ongoing inquiry into allegations of irregularities and corruption in the power purchase agreement between Adani Power Limited and the Bangladesh government. The allegations against Kaikaus encompass corruption, irregularities, abuse of power, and acquisition of illegal assets.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, ACC Deputy Director of the Public Relations Department Md Aktarul Islam disclosed this development during a briefing at its headquarters today. The ACC emphasized that Kaikaus served both as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and as Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources. Allegations have been raised against him for acquiring illegal assets through various acts of corruption, irregularities, and abuse of power.
The ACC’s recommendation marks a significant step in its investigation into the power purchase agreement with Adani Power Limited. The inquiry seeks to uncover any potential misconduct and ensure accountability within the involved parties.
