BGB Clinches Title at 2nd National Judo Kata Championship

Dhaka: The paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Judo team secured the championship title in the 2nd National Judo Kata Championship-2026 with a notable performance at the Handball Stadium.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Judo Federation organized the competition, which saw participation from five teams including BGB, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), and Uttara College, Dhaka.

During the event, four judokas from BGB competed, achieving one gold and one bronze medal, which led to their overall team championship victory. BKSP concluded the competition as the runners-up, securing one silver and one bronze medal.

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Bangladesh Police Additional Inspector General (Crime and Operations) and Bangladesh Judo Federation President Khondkar Rafiqul Islam, who attended as the chief guest and distributed the prizes to the winners.

BGB consistently offers its members sports training and opportunities to participate in competitions, aiming to promote discipline, leadership, physical fitness, and mental resilience, while contributing positively to the national and international sports scene.
