Dhaka: BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday officially launched the digital platform of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and initiated the distribution of four informative booklets prepared by the student organisation. The launch event took place at the BNP Chairman's Gulshan office in the capital at noon, where Rizvi served as the chief guest.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the digital platform is designed to provide students with educational and organisational information, facilitating their connection with technological advancements. The four booklets distributed at the event include detailed information on various aspects of JCD, covering its history, political activities, and contributions.
During his speech at the programme, Rizvi stressed the importance of integrating education with technology, emphasizing that failing to do so could leave students vulnerable to technological setbacks and fraud. He highlighted the platform's role in bridging this gap and enhancing students' technological competence.
Rizvi also addressed attempts to monopolize credit for the July movement, underscoring the contributions and sacrifices of 142 JCD leaders and activists, as well as around 450 individuals from BNP and associated labour organisations. He attributed the success of the July Revolution to the collective leadership and influence of the BNP and its leaders, notably Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
The newly launched booklets and digital platform aim to disseminate these historical contributions and insights to the broader student community. Rizvi also touched upon the challenges and repression faced by JCD leaders and activists over the past 16-17 years.
The event was attended by prominent figures including JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, Senior Vice-President Abu Afsan Yahya, and Senior Joint General Secretary Shyamal Malum. Additionally, leaders from the JCD unit of Dhaka University, other universities, colleges, and various activists associated with the organisation were present.
