Dhaka: A decision has been taken to adjust the retail price of bottled soybean oil, fixing the new price at TK 204 per litre. The announcement came following a meeting between the Commerce Ministry and edible oil traders to assess the current market dynamics, including international edible oil prices and import costs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting led to a press conference where Commerce Secretary Md. Ataur Rahman Khan explained that the decision was made after a thorough review of the prevailing market situation and other relevant factors. The new retail price is set to reflect these considerations effectively.
The decision underscores the collaborative efforts between the government and industry stakeholders to stabilize the market and ensure fair pricing for consumers amidst fluctuating international costs.
