Dhaka: In the latest reshuffle in the public administration, the government has appointed new secretaries to the Ministry of Public Administration, Health Services Division, Health Education and Family Welfare Division, and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications to this end on Wednesday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Md Quamruzzaman Chowdhury, who was previously serving as the secretary of the Health Services Division on a contractual basis, has now been transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration as its secretary. In a related move, Senior Public Administration Secretary Md Ehsanul Hoque has been reassigned to the Planning Commission as a member while continuing his service on a contractual basis.
Further changes include the appointment of Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid, an additional secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, who has been promoted to the rank of secretary and will now lead the Health Services Division. Similarly, AKM Benjamin Riazi, previously the additional secretary of the Ministry of Industries, has been promoted and appointed as the secretary of the Health Education and Family Welfare Division.
Yasmin Begum, an additional secretary of the Cabinet Division, has also been promoted to the rank of secretary and will now head the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Meanwhile, the current Cultural Affairs Secretary, Kaniz Moula, has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration for further posting.
