Cultural Event Featuring Nazrul’s Leto Gaan, Kabigaan at Shilpakala Thursday

Dhaka: A special cultural evening featuring Kazi Nazrul Islam’s Leto Gaan and Kabigaan will be held at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on September 3 evening and it will be open to everyone. As part of the ongoing celebrations of Nazrul Barsho, the event will be held at 6:30 pm at the auditorium of the National Music and Dance Centre.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury will attend the event as the chief guest. State Minister Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom and Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman will also attend as special guests, highlighting the significance of the occasion.



Leto Gaan and Kabigaan are two folk-art traditions of rural Bengal. In these traditions, songs serve as conversations, rhythm becomes the pulse of everyday life, and artists express the joys and sorrows of the people, as detailed in a press release.
