Dhaka: Three members of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) lost their lives and four others sustained injuries after a BAF pickup truck fell from a flyover near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal on Monday night.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident took place at approximately 10:20 pm while the BAF personnel were engaged in their routine duties at the terminal. The pickup truck, carrying the BAF members, lost control and plummeted from the flyover onto the second floor of the terminal. The accident resulted in the immediate deaths of three BAF members and left four others injured.
The deceased have been identified as Warrant Officer Mahmud, Corporal Piyas, and LAC Jubaidul. Among the injured are Corporal Sifat/Abu Sayeed, Corporal Mahbub, and LAC Ahad, all of whom sustained critical injuries, and senior officer Abul Khair, who suffered minor injuries.
Following the accident, the injured were transported to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, along with the bodies of the deceased. The incident was confirmed by ISPR’s Lt Col Sami Ud Dowla Chowdhury.
