BB, Islami Bank Sign Tk 3,000cr Refinancing Agreement

Dhaka: Bangladesh Bank and Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC have signed a Tk 3,000 crore refinancing agreement aimed at building an effective and dynamic agriculture value chain across the country. The primary objective of the scheme is to boost agricultural production, preservation, processing, marketing, and supply chain development, while generating rural employment.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the agreement was signed at the head office of Bangladesh Bank in the presence of central bank Deputy Governor Dr Md Kabir Ahamed, and Chief Spokesperson and Executive Director Arief Hossain Khan. BB Agricultural Credit Department-2 Director AKM Saiduzzaman and Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Retail Investment Wing at Islami Bank Abu Sayeed Md Idris signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.



Additional Directors of Bangladesh Bank Zoynal Abedin and Sakhawat Hossain, alongside Head of Islami Bank’s Agricultural Investment Division Mohammad Aman Ullah and other senior executives and officials from both organisations were present at the event.
