Dhaka: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two individuals, including the alleged prime suspect, in connection with the death of headteacher Ranjila Parveen. Parveen, 56, tragically lost her life after falling from an auto-rickshaw when a mugger reportedly grabbed her bag near Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, RAB-2 identified the prime suspect as Poni, who is also known by the alias "Para Ponir." The elite force managed to apprehend him and another suspect believed to be involved in the incident. Additionally, the RAB recovered the motorcycle that was allegedly used during the mugging.
RAB-2 confirmed the arrests through a text message sent to media outlets on Sunday, signaling a breakthrough in the investigation into Parveen's untimely death. The law enforcement agency's swift action in apprehending the suspects and recovering key evidence is expected to provide significant leads in the ongoing investigation.
