Rajshahi: A five-member delegation from West Yunnan University, China visited Rajshahi University (RU) today at the invitation of the RU authorities. The delegation met for an exchange of views with Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid in the conference room of Administration Building-1 at 10 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the exchange of views, they discussed matters of mutual interest, including the development of Bengali language education and research in China, as well as the exchange of teachers, students, and researchers between the two universities. They also explored topics related to Chinese language education, the development of vocational skills at RU, and the formulation of joint programs between the universities in education and research.
The Chinese delegation comprised Professor Zhang Yanmei, Vice President of West Yunnan University, along with Associate Professor Huang Jiezhong, Associate Professor Li Jianbo, Professor Wu Longfeng, and Associate Professor Chen Yinghong. The meeting concluded with the RU Pro-Vice Chancellors presenting souvenir gifts to the visiting delegation.
Among those present during the discussions were Professor Md. Hasnat Kabir, Director-in-charge of the ICT Center, Professor Muhammad Sajjadur Rahim, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and several other prominent faculty members.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Department of Bengali and the Faculty of Agriculture, engaging in discussions with faculty members. They also toured the Shaheed Mir Abdul Qaiyum International Dormitory, Zuberi (Guest) Bhaban, and the under-construction Confucius Institute building, in addition to participating in other scheduled programs.
