EBL Partners with icddr,b to Enhance Employee Healthcare Benefits

Dhaka: Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with icddr,b to extend healthcare benefits to its employees, spouses, and dependents through icddr,b’s Executive Health Check Clinics and diagnostic services. Under the agreement, EBL employees and their families will receive services from icddr,b’s Executive Health Check Clinics located in Mohakhali, Dhanmondi, Uttara, and Mirpur.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the bank anticipates that the collaboration will support the ongoing healthcare needs of its staff by providing access to diagnostic services at affordable rates. The MOU also offers a structured framework for referrals to icddr,b’s internationally accredited diagnostic laboratories, ensuring reliable and accurate medical testing for EBL employees and their families.

Operating since 1990, icddr,b Diagnostic Services was Bangladesh’s first facility to secure ISO 15189 and ISO 15190 accreditations and currently maintains the quality benchmark across 177 distinct test parameters. Dr Md Fazlul Kabir, Head of Clinical and Diagnostic Services at icddr,b, highlighted that EBL has been a committed partner in advancing social causes in Bangladesh and described the initiative as a reciprocal gesture between the two organisations.

Rahat Afroze, Head of Human Resources at EBL, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to employee well-being, stating that the partnership underscores EBL’s dedication to fostering a healthy and productive workplace. The initiative is a reflection of icddr,b’s longstanding social impact partnership with EBL and their goodwill gesture to support the bank’s workforce. Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony.
