Dhaka: National hockey team goalkeeper Ashraful Haque Saad stated that players are not idle during the team management's announced break. Instead, several players continue their training to maintain fitness ahead of their Asian Games campaign.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Saad mentioned that players are engaged in running and light training sessions every morning and afternoon to stay fit. The entire team is enthusiastic to resume full-fledged preparations once the visa process is finalized. The national hockey team's camp at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium has seen a reduction in activity.
The team management introduced a four-day break to help players recover from fatigue due to continuous rigorous training. Despite this, several players have opted to remain at the camp during the break.
In preparation for the Asian Games, the team is set to travel to Germany for a conditioning camp. The players could be called for visa processing by the German Embassy in Dhaka at any moment. Consequently, players residing far from Dhaka have stayed at the camp to avoid missing the visa process, while those living nearby have returned home to spend the break with their families.
