Dhaka: Seven more children died with symptoms of measles across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from measles-related diseases to 915.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) stated that no one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, but seven children died from suspected measles. Since March 15, 99 children have died from confirmed measles and 816 from suspected measles.
In the past 24 hours, healthcare professionals identified 50 new confirmed measles cases. Additionally, 981 new suspected measles cases were reported during this period.
DGHS data reveals that a total of 143,778 suspected measles cases have been reported since March 15. During the same time frame, 17,930 confirmed measles cases have been detected.
