Bogura: Four individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident when a truck collided head-on with a pick-up van on the Bogura-Naogaon highway at Kazipara in the Kahalu upazila of Bogura district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident took place on Saturday at approximately 10 am when a goods-laden truck bound for Naogaon attempted to overtake a human hauler. The truck struck the pick-up van, resulting in the immediate death of four individuals at the scene.
Among the deceased, one was identified as Lutfur Rahman, 50, a fish trader from Mymensingh district. The identities of the other victims remain unknown at this time. Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Kahalu Police Station, confirmed the details of the accident.
Emergency responders from the police and fire service quickly arrived at the location to recover the bodies, which were subsequently sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital for further procedures.
Efforts to apprehend the truck driver and his helper have been unsuccessful, as they managed to escape the scene before authorities could intervene.
