Dhaka: International Master (IM) Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh took the solo lead with 4.5 points after the fifth round of the Six Days July Grandmaster-B Chess Tournament, currently underway in Budapest, Hungary.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the fifth round, Neer achieved a significant victory over Hungarian Grandmaster (GM) D¡vid B©rczes. Playing with the white pieces, Neer faced GM B©rczes, who opted for the French Defense. The game progressed into the Advance Variation, where Neer secured an impressive win in just 28 moves.
