Dhaka: NTV's Nuruddin Ahmed and RTV's Mohammad Momin Hossain have emerged as the newly elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Greater Dhaka Journalists Forum. The election, which took place at the Jatiya Press Club, was part of the forum's biennial general meeting. Outgoing President Farid Hossain presided over the event, marking a significant transition in the forum's leadership.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly formed committee for the Greater Dhaka Journalists Forum includes Vice Presidents ABM Rafikur Rahman and SM Monirul Islam, Joint Secretary Anjan Rahman, Treasurer Shirin Sultana, Public Welfare Secretary Nurunnabi Robi, Cultural and Publications Secretary Suman Islam, Office Secretary Atikul Islam, along with six executive members. This election is an essential milestone in the forum's ongoing efforts to address the needs of journalists in the Greater Dhaka area.
In addition to electing new leaders, the meeting also established a seven-member advisory council. The council members include Kartik Chatterjee, Farid Hossain, Shaheen Chowdhury, Hasan Hafiz, Morsalin Babla, Sahabuddin Sikder, and Mahbub Alam. This advisory body is expected to play a crucial role in guiding the forum's initiatives and strategies in the upcoming term.
