Chattogram: Chattogram district police arrested S.M. Abu Taher Bhuiyan (69), former Chairman of Mithanala Union Parishad and a leader of the Awami League in Mirsarai, Chattogram. OC of Mirsarai thana Farida Yasmin said Taher Bhuiyan was arrested from his residence on Sunday night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Taher Bhuiyan held the position of chairman of Mithanala Union Parishad from 2003 to 2016 and also served as the President of the Union Awami League. Farida Yasmin mentioned that there was an arrest warrant issued against Taher Bhuiyan in a case. He was presented in court today.
