Dhaka: One more person has succumbed to dengue in the country in the last 24 hours, while 110 new patients have been admitted to hospitals during the same period, as per the latest dengue situation report.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the information was revealed in a press release issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The report highlights the continued challenge posed by the mosquito-borne disease across various regions.
The release specified that among the newly hospitalized patients, 35 were admitted in Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 12 in Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), 15 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), one in Dhaka North City Corporation, 12 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 21 in Khulna Division (outside city corporation areas), eight in Mymensingh Division (outside city corporation areas), five in Rajshahi Division (outside city corporation areas), and one in Sylhet Division (outside city corporation areas).
In the past 24 hours, 83 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries and hospital discharges this year to 3,138. The cumulative number of dengue cases recorded across the country this year has reached 3,307, with males comprising 62.6 percent and females 37.4 percent of those affected. The death toll from the disease this year now stands at six.
DGHS data further reveals that a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths were recorded in 2025. In 2024, the country reported 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths from the disease, indicating the persistent health threat dengue poses.
