Jatiya sangsad: Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, has expressed his optimism that democracy will get permanent shape and none will face persecution for their political belief under the tenure of the current BNP-led government. ‘Citizens are enjoying freedom of speech and there is no fear among them since the current government assumed office. This is the benefit of democracy,’ he said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the speaker made these remarks while exchanging Eid greetings with administrative officials, political leaders, activists, and devotees after the Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the central Eidgah ground in Lalmohan upazila. Hafiz urged the affluent people to share the joy of Eid-ul-Azha with the underprivileged.
‘I firmly believe that in the coming days, a democratic government will be able to reflect the hopes and aspirations of the people. Under the leadership of current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the government will dedicate itself to the welfare of ordinary citizens,’ Hafiz stated, emphasizing the commitment to public welfare.
He also noted that the dreams of the Liberation War have still not been fully realized, acknowledging the long struggles and sacrifices made to bring democracy back to the country. Hafiz highlighted the importance of these achievements in the nation’s democratic journey.
Referring to the contemporary global situation, the speaker remarked that countries in the Muslim world are currently suffering due to oppression by global superpowers. He further alleged that an international conspiracy is being carried out against Muslims, urging for vigilance and unity among Muslim nations.
Local administrative officers and political leaders were present on the occasion, showing solidarity with the speaker’s vision for a stable and persecution-free democratic environment.
