Pedestrian Fatality in Motorcycle Accident in Bagerhat

Bagerhat: A pedestrian was killed in a motorcycle accident in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat this afternoon. The accident occurred on the Bogy-to-Rayenda regional road in the Doctor’s Crossing area of Bolibunia Union of the upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased has been identified as Md. Mohiuddin Talukder, aged 55. He was a resident of Ward No. 6 of Uttar Sutaldi village in the upazila and the son of Osman Talukder.



Sources from the police and local community indicate that Mohiuddin Talukder was traveling to Kalikabari from the Doctor’s Crossing when an unknown motorcycle struck him from behind. The impact caused him to fall onto the road, sustaining severe injuries. The motorcyclist fled the scene immediately after the collision.



Local residents promptly came to Mohiuddin’s aid, transporting him to the Khulna General 250-bed Hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.



Upon receiving the report of the incident, officers from Morelganj Police Station arrived at the location to restore traffic flow. The police are actively working to identify the motorcyclist responsible for the fatal incident. Legal proceedings are currently in progress, according to police statements.
