Chattogram: Like every year, the devotees of Mirzarkhil Darbar Sharif of Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Chandanaish upazilas of the district celebrated the holy Eid-ul-Azha today, one day ahead of the rest of the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, followers from these two religious centres in Chattogram customarily celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in alignment with Saudi Arabia and other Middle-Eastern Muslim countries. The early celebration saw participation from several hundred devotees across 91 villages in Patiya, Chandanaish, Satkania, Anowara, Banshkhali, Sitakunda, Lohagara, Boalkhali, and Fatikchari upazilas in Chattogram, as well as some upazilas in the Feni and Chandpur districts.
In total, 108 Eid congregations took place in these 91 villages, with two significant gatherings at Mirzarkhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Elahabad village in Chandanaish. Additionally, eight other Eid congregations were conducted in different hill districts, including Bandarban district, in the morning.
Chattogram district police sources confirmed that all Eid Jamats proceeded without any incidents.
