Lalmonirhat: Export and import activities through the Burimari land port in Lalmonirhat district are set to be suspended for eight days starting from May 25, coinciding with the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. The operations are scheduled to resume on June 2, as announced by Faruk Hossain, the president of the Burimari C and F Agents Association.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the decision was reached during a joint meeting between trade organizations from Burimari land port in Bangladesh and Changrabandha land port in India. This meeting aimed to finalize the schedule for the holiday period, ensuring that both sides are in agreement on the temporary suspension of trade.
Despite the halt in trade activities, passenger movement for passport holders will not be affected. Burimari Immigration Sub-Inspector Saifur Rahman confirmed that normal operations for passport holders will continue throughout the holiday period, allowing uninterrupted travel for individuals crossing the border.
