Faridpur: At least five people lost their lives in a head-on collision between a bus and an ambulance in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur on Sunday morning.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the tragic incident claimed the lives of two women and three men, all believed to be passengers of the ambulance. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. The collision occurred around 10:45 am on the Dhaka-Barishal highway near Shankarpasha Bazar.
Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station, Helal Uddin, reported that the accident happened when a Dhaka-bound ambulance collided head-on with a Faridpur-bound BRTC bus. He confirmed that five individuals died on the spot and mentioned that rescue operations were still ongoing. Further details regarding the accident are awaited.
