Natore: State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin announced today that the government is committed to making land services more accessible and easier for citizens by introducing automation. She was speaking at the inauguration of a three-day Land Service Fair held at the Collectorate building premises.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair is organized by the Natore district administration under the theme “People-friendly Automated Land Management: Secured Land, Prosperous Future.” The state minister emphasized that the government has initiated steps to modernize the land management system in response to contemporary needs. “Citizen services are being simplified under this system. Service delivery activities are being brought under automation to prevent irregularities and delays,” she noted.
Farzana Sharmin highlighted the importance of the fair in raising awareness and enhancing citizen engagement in land management services. She addressed the issue of land disputes, stating that Legal Aid Offices and village courts are actively working to resolve such conflicts. “It is possible to resolve land disputes easily through these government institutions. The government is working to make all types of citizen services more dynamic. We want to play a responsible role in increasing public engagement in receiving government services,” she added.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Asma Shahin, with Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shariful Haque and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Asma Khatun, among others, delivering speeches. Earlier, a vibrant procession led by Farzana Sharmin traversed key roads of the town from the Collectorate building premises.
The fair features eight stalls that provide various land-related citizen services, with public hearings arranged to raise awareness among citizens. Services such as online land development tax payment and mutation are available at the event. Additionally, seminars and quiz competitions on land-related issues are scheduled to take place during the three-day fair. Similar initiatives are also being conducted in the district’s other six upazilas.
