Dhaka: New Zealand’s non-resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh, David Pine, expressed New Zealand’s interest in cooperating with Bangladesh in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, tourism, higher education, and food processing. This announcement came during a meeting with Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Humaiun Kobir, at the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to United News of Bangladesh, High Commissioner Pine commended Bangladesh’s proactive efforts in addressing global climate change and expressed hope that the country would continue to play a significant role internationally. He emphasized the opportunities for collaboration that lie ahead in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
Adviser Humaiun Kobir highlighted Bangladesh’s commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection, and building a green economy, despite the country’s vulnerability to climate change. He reiterated Bangladesh’s readiness to offer leadership in global climate change initiatives.
The meeting covered potential areas for bilateral relations, trade, and mutual cooperation, focusing on how both nations can benefit from enhanced collaboration.
