Chittagong: Police recovered the body of Poli Chowdhury, a 46-year-old school teacher, from her residence in the Dewanji Pukurpar area under Kotwali police station in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the body was discovered around 3 pm today. Police reported no signs of injury, though it was decomposed and slightly swollen, as stated by Kotwali police station's Sub-Inspector Rashed. Authorities were alerted via the national emergency service 999 when attempts to contact Poli Chowdhury from outside the home went unanswered.
The door to the house was opened with the assistance of the fire service and local residents, revealing Poli Chowdhury's lifeless body on the floor. Her body has been taken to the hospital, and legal proceedings are currently underway.
Family sources indicated that efforts to reach Poli Chowdhury on her mobile phone since Saturday had been unsuccessful. With police assistance, family members broke the door lock and discovered her body inside. Local residents noted that Poli Chowdhury was unmarried and lived alone, as her father is deceased and her mother resides abroad.
