Dhaka: Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9 am today, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Met Office bulletin issued this morning indicated that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places over the Chattogram division. A few places over the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions, along with one or two places over the Khulna and Barishal divisions, are also expected to experience similar weather conditions.
The bulletin further mentioned that moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may also occur over the Chattogram division. While the day temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country, a slight drop in night temperature might be observed.
In terms of recent temperature records, the highest temperature on Monday was noted at 37 degrees Celsius in Netrokona. Meanwhile, the lowest temperature today was recorded at 24.5 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat. Over the last 24 hours, Dhaka received the highest rainfall amounting to 20 millimetres.
For residents in Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:02 pm today and rise at 5:45 am tomorrow.
