Rajshahi: Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu emphasized that a nation cannot achieve greatness without recognizing its distinguished individuals, whose expertise and contributions have significantly benefited the country. He stated that the nation will remain eternally grateful to these individuals.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a seminar and reception for senior engineers. The event took place on Saturday evening in the conference room of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and was organized by the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, Rajshahi Centre. The seminar was presided over by Engineer Sardar Anisur Rahman Rana, chairman of the IEB Rajshahi Centre.
Minu described RUET as a prestigious institution, likening it to a nurturing mother for all past, present, and future members. He expressed that future generations joining the institution would feel honored by the legacy being left for them.
Prominent attendees at the program included RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Abdur Razzak, Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milan, MP, and NESCO Rajshahi Executive Director Engineer Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, who participated as special guests.
During the event, the minister acknowledged the senior engineers by presenting them with crests. A total of 15 distinguished engineers, among them six RUET faculty members, were honored for their contributions.
Engineer Mokhlesur Rahman delivered the keynote presentation titled 'Smart Distribution System in Northern Electricity Supply PLC (NESCO).' He discussed the advancements in smart distribution technology, methods to enhance the efficiency of the power supply system, and its future potential.
Speakers at the seminar highlighted that recognizing the contributions of senior engineers is crucial. They also noted that such seminars play a vital role in equipping young engineers with a comprehensive understanding of modern technology and smart power distribution systems.
