Partner Congress Focuses on Farmer Training in Thakurgaon

Thakurgaon: A day-long training workshop named ‘Partner Congress’ was held in Thakurgaon, focusing on building the capacity of farmers to produce safe food and increase production. The event aimed at enhancing agricultural practices through comprehensive training.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ‘Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner) Project’ has been initiated to provide essential training for farmers. The event took place at the Sadar Upazila auditorium premises, organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).



Majedul Islam, Deputy Director of Thakurgaon district of DAE, attended as the chief guest, with Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Nasirul Alam presiding over the event. During the workshop, speakers highlighted the importance of adhering to international standards and regulations for obtaining GAP certification. They stressed the need for proper preservation of dairy products, using approved fertilizers and pesticides, and maintaining soil and water quality.



The congress also covered modern farming technologies, methods to increase production, marketing strategies, and various aspects of improving farmers’ living standards.
