Tk 50 Lakh Snatched from Sylhet BNP City President in Daylight Robbery

Sylhet: Around Tk 50 lakh belonging to Sylhet Metropolitan BNP President Nasim Hossain was reportedly snatched from the Parairchok area under Moglabazar Police Station in Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet on Friday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 am, creating a significant stir in the area.



According to United News of Bangladesh, a complaint has been filed with Moglabazar Police Station in connection with the incident. BNP leader Nasim Hossain confirmed the details on Friday night, explaining his role as the divisional distributor for a leading mobile financial service provider, bKash. Due to the closure of banks on Friday, officials of the organization were transporting Tk 50 lakh 50 thousand in a private car for distribution among businessmen in Fenchuganj and nearby areas.



The robbery unfolded when the vehicle reached Parairchok. A group of snatchers on motorcycles reportedly blocked the car, carried out an attack, and vandalized it. The assailants looted the money at gunpoint, Nasim Hossain detailed, further mentioning that a complaint was lodged with Moglabazar Police Station on Friday afternoon.



Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Mohammad Manjurul Alam confirmed the incident, stating that a complaint has been received regarding the snatching. He added that the complaint is currently under verification, and the matter is being treated with importance.
