Govt Working to Fulfill Promises Made to People: MP Khokon

Madaripur: Lawmaker from Madaripur-3, Anisur Rahman Khokon Talukdar, emphasized that the government has initiated efforts to fulfill the promises made to the public before the February 12 national elections. Speaking at an exchange-of-views meeting organized by the Lakshmipur Union BNP and its affiliated organizations at Suryamoni Bazar in Kalkini upazila, Khokon highlighted various initiatives that have been launched in the past two and a half months.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khokon Talukdar stated that initiatives such as family cards, farmer cards, and allowances for imams and athletes are currently underway. Additionally, canal excavation projects have commenced, with the re-excavation work of four canals recently inaugurated.



Khokon Talukdar, addressing the attendees, affirmed his commitment as a member of parliament and a supporter of Tarique Rahman. He reassured the public of ongoing development efforts, stating that many road development proposals are in the process of tender approval.



The meeting was presided over by Lakshmipur Union BNP President Fazlur Rahman Sardar, with General Secretary Ziaul Haque Sardar moderating. Notable attendees included former president of Kalkini Upazila BNP and freedom fighter Fazlul Haque Bepari, General Secretary Mahbub Hossain Munshi, and Executive Engineer of Kalkini Upazila LGED Rezaul Karim.
