Zakat Goats and Sewing Machines Aid Underprivileged Families in Bagerhat

Bagerhat: Zakat goats and sewing machines were distributed among underprivileged families here today under the initiative of the Bagerhat Zakat Welfare Foundation. MP Sheikh Manjurul Haque Rahad of Bagerhat Sadar-2 constituency distributed the assistance materials at a discussion and Zakat distribution programme held at a local hotel in the district town.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was chaired by the organisation’s director, SM Arafat Hossain. Other notable attendees included Zakat Welfare Foundation Executive Director SM Al Amin Faizi, Assistant Attorney General Ed Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Sheikh Mohammu Abul Kasem, Abdur Razzak Chowdhury, and Md Ikramul Hossain Iku, who addressed the programme.



Speaking as the chief guest, MP Sheikh Manjurul Haque Rahad emphasized that Zakat is the rightful share of the poor entrusted by Allah to the wealthy. He highlighted that the proper implementation of Zakat in society could help reduce poverty and strengthen social welfare. He also stressed the importance of promoting Zakat as part of Islamic values.



The initiative aimed to provide sewing machines and goats to assist poor families in becoming financially self-reliant, contributing to their long-term economic stability.
