Dhaka: River ports across several regions have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal No 1 as a precautionary measure against potential gusty or squally winds expected in various parts of the country. This directive comes from a special bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
According to United News of Bangladesh, temporary west or northwesterly gusty or squally winds, with speeds ranging from 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, are likely to affect the regions of Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noahkali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet. In response to these conditions, river ports within these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal No 1.
The warning for inland river ports is set to remain in effect until 1 am on May 8, as noted in the BMD bulletin.
