Dhaka: Police under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 100 individuals in special drives conducted in Mirpur, Mugda, and Jatrabari police stations areas over the past two days.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in Mirpur Model Thana, police detained 54 persons, including three alleged extortionists, during a drive targeting crime-prone areas. The operation was part of an ongoing effort to curb criminal activities in the region.
In Mugda Thana, a total of 22 suspects were arrested on Tuesday. Among them, several were held in connection with regular and pending cases, arrest warrants, and mobile court proceedings. The authorities have been focusing on executing pending warrants and ensuring compliance with legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, in Jatrabari Thana, police arrested 24 individuals in a similar drive on May 5. The detainees were linked to ongoing cases, previous cases, warrants, and mobile court actions. These operations are part of a broader initiative to maintain law and order in the city.
All detainees have been sent to the court for legal proceedings, police sources said, underscoring the commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice is served.
