Chittagong: The Chittagong University (CU) Research and Publication Cell conducted a day-long research workshop at the Faculty of Business Administration’s conference room today. CU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest, with special guests including Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan and Dean of the Business Administration Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof. Mohammad Al-Forkan emphasized the importance of research as a fundamental responsibility of university teachers, highlighting it as a crucial means of establishing oneself as an academic. He stressed that the reputation of a university is closely tied to the quality of research produced by its faculty and expressed hope that the workshop would enhance teachers’ skills and interest in research.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan reiterated the dual responsibilities of teaching and research for university faculty, underscoring the role of a university in generating new knowledge through dedicated research efforts.
The workshop was moderated by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Alamgir, Chairman of the Marketing Department, and chaired by Prof. Dr. Tanvir Mohammad Hayder Arif, Director of the Research and Publication Cell. It featured three key segments, including sessions on the current activities and future plans of the Research and Publication Cell, research proposals, and report writing, conducted by distinguished faculty members.
