Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today held a meeting with officials of concerned officials of the textile ministry and stakeholders on the closed factories under the Textile and Jute Ministry: The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangladesh Secretariat this morning, Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon said. He said the meeting discussed various issues, including the way for reopening of closed factories.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by several key figures, including Textiles and Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Prime Minister’s Political and Industrial Affairs Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and State Minister for Textiles and Jute Shariful Alam. Also present was Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun.
The discussions focused on strategizing efficient measures for the reopening of factories that had ceased operations. The aim is to revitalize the textile sector, which is a significant contributor to the national economy. The officials deliberated on potential policies and support systems that could be introduced to expedite the reopening process and ensure sustainability of the factories in the long run.
