Special Committee of 13th Jatiya Sangsad Holds Inaugural Meeting on Energy Situation

Dhaka: The first meeting of a special committee of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban to formulate recommendations on addressing the recent energy situation and to prepare a report for submission to Parliament. The meeting was presided over by Committee Chairman and Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hassan Mahmood.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting saw participation from key committee members including State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Whip A.B.M. Ashraf Uddin (Nijan), Whip Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu, Moinul Islam Khan, Md. Nurul Islam, Md. Abdul Baten, Md. Abul Hasnat, and Mohammad Abul Hasan. A press release indicated that these members discussed the energy situation through a detailed presentation provided by the ministry.



The committee expressed satisfaction with the measures already undertaken by the ministry to tackle ongoing energy challenges. They reviewed various aspects of the current energy situation and provided their opinions and suggestions. It was decided that further meetings would be held to develop a comprehensive report with necessary recommendations for Parliament.



The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the Secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, and other concerned officials.
