The Prime Minister also addressed a public rally organized at the site for the occasion.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister later inaugurated the re-excavation of the Basia River, a project that holds deep personal significance as it is closely linked to the memory of his father, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. In addition to these infrastructural endeavors, Tarique Rahman launched the nationwide talent hunting programme titled ‘Notun Kuri Sports’ at the Sylhet Stadium in the Rikabi Bazar area.
Before departing Sylhet for Dhaka, Tarique Rahman, who also serves as the chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), attended a workers meeting organized by the local BNP at the Shilpakala Academy.
