CCGP Approves Proposals to Enhance NESCO Power Distribution Network

Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved two significant proposals aimed at modernizing and strengthening the power distribution network under Northern Electricity Supply Company Limited (NESCO).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the approval came during the 19th meeting of the committee held in the capital, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury. The committee gave the green light to a proposal under Package-GD4 (P-04), Lot-1, which involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of three new 2‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬20/26.66 MVA 33/11 kV GIS substations, alongside upgrading one existing 33/11 kV GIS substation. The contract for this project, with a budget set at Taka 156.05 crore, was awarded to a joint venture of Adex Corporation Limited and Adex Engineering Limited.



In addition, the committee approved another proposal under Package-GD4 (P-04), Lot-2, which encompasses the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of one new 2‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬10/13.33 MVA 33/11 kV AIS substation. This project, with a cost of Taka 27.42 crore, was awarded to Ideal Electrical Enterprise Ltd.



Both projects are integral components of a broader initiative titled ‘Modernization of Network Infrastructure and Power Distribution System in NESCO Area.’ This initiative aims to improve power distribution efficiency and enhance service reliability across the company’s operational zones.
