Dhaka:: CHT Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan has extended greetings to the members of the Buddhist community of Bangladesh and across the world on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. In a message today, he emphasized the significance of Gautam Buddha as a symbol of non-violence, equality, and compassion, noting that Buddha’s message of peace continues to guide a troubled and turbulent world.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Dipen Dewan expressed that embracing Buddha’s ideals of compassion, friendship, and sacrifice could lead to the creation of a discrimination-free, prosperous, and peaceful society. He highlighted Bangladesh as a unique example of communal harmony, where people of all religions have long lived together in mutual respect and fraternity.
The minister praised the cultural diversity, deep religious traditions, and peaceful lifestyle of the people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, describing them as an integral part of national unity. He called upon everyone to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the country and the nation by upholding the great ideals of Buddha.
Minister Dewan urged everyone to remain united under the spirit of ‘Bangladesh First’ and to strengthen communal harmony. He further called for collective efforts to build a modern and prosperous Bangladesh by upholding the spirit of independence and democratic values.
