Distressed Women and Children Aid Fund Opens Application Process

Dhaka: The Department of Women’s Affairs has announced that applications are now open for the Distressed Women and Children Aid Fund, providing essential support for those in need. Applications must be submitted by May 20, as detailed in a notification issued by the department.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fund aims to offer one-time financial assistance to individuals who are helpless, sick, orphaned, financially distressed, or acid-affected. Additionally, meritorious students and women and children impacted by natural disasters are encouraged to apply. The application process requires eligible candidates to use a prescribed form, accessible on the department’s website at dwa.gov.bd, or available at the district and upazila offices of the Department of Women’s Affairs.

The submission of applications can be performed either by the applicants themselves or their nominated guardians. The fund is designed to provide financial support ranging from Taka 5,000 to Taka 50,000 or more, depending on the needs for treatment, legal aid, or one-time support to eligible beneficiaries.
