Yasser Khan Choudhury Warns Opposition Against Enabling Fascist Forces

Dhaka: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has issued a strong warning to the opposition, urging them to refrain from any actions that could pave the way for the re-emergence of fascist forces in the country. He delivered the warning while participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s speech in the Jatiya Sangsad, said an official handout.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Yasser Khan Choudhury reaffirmed his political roots, his commitment to his constituency, and his pledge to implement the spirit of the July movement. Referring to his political identity, the state minister expressed deep gratitude to the founder of BNP, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, stating that his ideals and leadership inspired him to join politics.

Expressing deep emotion for the people of his constituency, Mymensingh-9 (Nandail), he emphasized that the soil and people of Nandail are his main source of strength. He pledged to uphold the trust of the people and ensure development and rights for the residents of Nandail. He also highlighted the poor condition of roads in the area and sought remedies from the concerned minister.

The state minister criticized the activities of the opposition in parliament, warning them against actions that could allow old fascist forces to rise again in Bangladesh. He stressed the importance of acting responsibly to maintain stability in the country. Quoting Rabindranath Tagore, he cautioned the opposition about the consequences of lacking foresight in politics.

Yasser Khan Choudhury reaffirmed the commitment to implementing the ‘July National Charter’ and warned against treating it as personal property. He called for constructive politics and urged the opposition not to oppose for the sake of opposition. He emphasized the importance of avoiding unnecessary controversies over historical events, urging the opposition alliance to engage in constructive political debate in parliament for the country’s future.
